Norway Landscapes

When most landscape photographers describe their ideal location, it is a land of rugged mountains, tall waterfalls, reflecting lakes, and abundant wildflowers. Even the most casual visitor knows that this is simply a brief description of Norway, for Norway is also a land of glaciers and fjords, mountain meadows, and beautiful waterside villages. The greens of Norway have been compared to Ireland's, and the mountains have inspired symphonies.

Using Bergen as our assembly point, we will make excursions to small fishing villages on remote islands and the Neroy Valley. Bergen will tantalize us with its buildings from the Hansa era and its charming historic waterfront. After Bergen, we'll go to the countryside, to the mountains, to the fjords, and to small fishing villages.

The beautiful valley and fjord of Neroy are lined with vertical cliffs and fantastic waterfalls. We'll visit Flam. We'll see the Sognefjord. Then we will travel to the town of Loen, our base for visiting the Briksdalbreen Glacier and waterfalls and even a possible boat ride to photograph Geiranger's beautiful fjord.

The tour will end in the historic harbor town of Alesund, from which KLM flies to international connections.
